1st Grade

Mrs. Spitzer is thrilled to be a part of the YES family! She loves teaching first grade and has a background in special education. When she is not in the classroom, Mrs. Spitzer enjoys spending time with family and taking trips to the beach. She is looking forward to being your teacher!

Mrs. Kump is in her 18th year in education and her 10th year teaching first grade. In her teaching career, she has taught each grade from Pre-K to second. Mrs. Kump grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University in 2000. She has moved around all over North Carolina and lived in Georgia for four years. Now, she lives in Wake Forest with her husband, Scott, her two children Noah, (21) a college student and soccer player at Lipscomb University, Caleb, (16) a junior at Wake Forest High School and her two dogs(Walker and Harper). In her free time, Mrs. Kump loves to read, go to the beach, travel and spend time watching her sons play soccer.

Mrs. Thompson is thrilled to begin her 6th year as a classroom teacher at Youngsville Elementary School. This will be her 4rd year in 1st grade. She moved to Youngsville, NC in 2002 with her family and began her elementary education career at Y.E.S. in 2005. Teaching elementary education is something she absolutely enjoys and finds extremely rewarding. She has been blessed to serve most of the families here at Y.E.S. in some capacity over the last seventeen years. She feels fortunate and honored to be a part of her students' continuing education at Youngsville Elementary School. She also enjoys reading, spending time with her family which includes two fur babies (German Shepherd and Chihuahua) and vacationing at the beach.

Ms. Amezquita ( "Ms. A.") is very excited to be at YES. She has taught for over 20 years, and this is her 13th year teaching 1st grade. She loves kayaking, paddleboarding, gardening, and crocheting. She especially likes going on adventures with her Yorkie, Loki!
