July/August
July 19, 2026
Dear Youngsville Elementary Families,
The new school year is off to a great start! It has been exciting to welcome our Jr. Jaguars back to school and to see them settling into their classrooms, making new friends, and beginning a year of learning and growth. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support during our opening week.
We look forward to meeting our newest Jr. Jags who will be joining us later this week when kindergarten students come for their first day on Thursday, July 23.
As we begin our first full week of school, here are a few important reminders:
Attendance Matters
Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Please make every effort to have your child at school each day and on time. Our instructional day begins promptly at 7:45 a.m.
If your child is absent from school, please send in a note to explain the absence. Absences can only be excused for lawful reasons - sickness, doctor’s appointments, etc.
Morning Arrival
Car riders may be dropped off beginning at 7:10 a.m.
Please remain in the car rider line and do not park or leave your vehicle in the drop-off lane.
Students should arrive before 7:45 a.m. so they are ready to begin learning when the school day starts.
Afternoon Dismissal
Dismissal begins at 2:35 p.m.
If you are picking up in the car line, please display your car rider tag each afternoon. This helps us identify appropriate adults and also keeps the line moving faster.
Each child must have a primary transportation plan. If a change in plan is needed, you must notify the office no later than 1 pm.
Stay Connected
Please check your child's backpack each evening for school information, classroom newsletters, and completed work. Be sure to read messages from your child's teacher(s).
School Expectations
At Youngsville Elementary, we encourage every student to demonstrate our core values each day:
Respect
Kindness
Safety
Responsibility
Families can help by discussing these expectations at home and celebrating when students make positive choices.
Breakfast and Lunch
Students have the opportunity to enjoy nutritious breakfast and lunch each day. Encourage your child to start the day with breakfast so they are ready to learn. Both breakfast and lunch are free of charge to Franklin County School students.
Read Every Night
Reading for just 20 minutes each evening helps build vocabulary, fluency, and a lifelong love of learning. We encourage families to make reading part of their nightly routine.
Thank you for partnering with us as we begin another exciting school year. We appreciate your support and look forward to a fantastic year of learning, growth, and success for every Jr. Jag!

Dear Youngsville Elementary Families,
As we begin another exciting week, I want to extend a very warm welcome to our newest Junior Jaguars in Kindergarten and Pre-K! It has been wonderful to see our youngest learners settling into their classrooms, building new friendships, and becoming part of our school family. We are so glad you are here!
We also celebrated a great first full week of school! Thank you to our students, families, and staff for helping make the start of the school year such a success.
As is typical, everyone is adjusting to the first few days of a new school year. We appreciate your patience as we formalize bus routes and drivers adjust to updates. We can provide an approximate pick up and drop off time, however, we cannot be precise. Thank you for working with us.
Attendance Matters
Every school day counts! Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Arriving on time, staying for the entire instructional day, and avoiding unnecessary early checkouts help students receive the full benefit of classroom instruction.
Thank you for making attendance a priority and for ensuring your child is at school each day and completes the full school day whenever possible.
Youngsville Elementary is a Title I School
Youngsville Elementary is proud to be a Title I School, receiving federal funding to support student achievement through additional instructional resources, intervention services, family engagement opportunities, and academic support.
Parent-Student-Teacher Compact
One important component of our Title I program is the Parent-Student-Teacher Compact, which outlines the shared commitment between home and school to support student success.
Please look for the compact to come home with your child this week. After reviewing it together, sign and return it to your child's teacher.

Dear Youngsville Elementary Families,
We are already heading into our fourth full week of school! Our students and staff continue to work hard each day as we focus on Growing Great Learners. Thank you for your continued support!
Progress reports will be sent home this week for students in grades 1-5. Kindergarten reports will go home next week. Please take a few minutes to review your child’s progress and celebrate the areas where they are doing well. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
We have had a few questions about students being marked tardy. Our instructional day begins at 7:45 am and students are required to be in class ready to begin at that time. Students still in transit or not in class at that time are marked tardy. Although tardies will occur from time to time for various reasons, thank you for helping us avoid patterns of tardiness that cut into learning. Attendance matters!
Please keep the following dates in mind:
Monday, August 10 – School Improvement Meeting, 5:00 PM
Don't forget our School Improvement parent meeting Monday evening at 5:00 PM in the media center. We will share school data, discuss our improvement priorities, and gather parent input. All parents are welcome!

Wednesday, August 19 – Teacher Workday

Have an awesome week!

I continue to remain very pleased with the effort and focus of our students in their daily work. Overall, they continue to meet our expectations for behavior as well. We look forward to closing out the last three weeks on a high note!

Beginning Teacher of the Year
Youngsville Elementary School recognizes Ms. Chandler Parrish, 5th grade Math/Science teacher as its Beginning Teacher of the Year 2026! Although Ms. Parrish is early in her teaching career, she has demonstrated a level of confidence and effectiveness that is impressive for a beginning teacher. She has a strong background in mathematics and science and does an excellent job of making learning meaningful and relevant for her students.
